About Tim

Tim BriggsTim was born in Montgomery County and has lived in Upper Merion Township for the last decade. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science with minors in Russian Studies and Geography from West Chester University. While working full-time, Tim attended night school at Temple Law School and graduated in 2004. Tim is currently an Associate at the law firm of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin Maxwell & Lupin, practicing law in their Real Estate and Municipal Law Departments.

Tim has been committed to public service throughout his entire professional career. He has served as an advisor to reform-minded, committed public servants in our area like Commissioner Joe Hoeffel, State Representative Daylin Leach, State Senator Connie Williams and former Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky.

As State Representative, Tim is committed to ensuring the 149th District receives a superb level of constituent service and our fair share of state funding for infrastructure and community improvements. Tim is committed to knocking on thousands of doors throughout Upper Merion, Bridgeport, West Conshohocken and Lower Merion to hear the voters' concerns and make sure he understands their needs. Based on his experiences as a parent, husband and citizen, the major issues Tim will tackle as your state representative include: better and safer schools for our children, affordable higher education, access to healthcare for everyone a cleaner environment and energy independence.

Tim was recently appointed to serve on an ad-hoc committee formed by Upper Merion Township to explore the feasibility of building a recreation and/or cultural center in Upper Merion. Tim also serves on the Board of Directors for the James A. Finnegan Fellowship Foundation, a statewide organization, which provides scholarships, stipends and internships to Pennsylvania students who express an interest in state government. Tim previously served on the Board of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montgomery County and was a volunteer fireman for a number of years.

Tim is married to Robyn Traverso Briggs. They have two children Emily, 7, and Jack, 5, who attend Upper Merion schools and are active in township recreational activities with their parents coaching and cheering. Robyn is also an active participant in the community through her volunteer work improving education. She currently serves as the Co-President of the Caley School Parent-Teacher Committee and serves on two Upper Merion School District Committees; the Facilities and Operations Committee and the Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow.
